SUSANA JANUÁRIO

Susana Januário has a BA, MA and PhD in Sociology from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto. She has professional experience as a lecturer in higher education, vocational training, research, consultancy and advisory services. She has coordinated higher education courses and has experience as a director of a Higher Education School of Education. She has worked in the field of Social Sciences and Education, with an emphasis on Sociology. Her research interests and focuses have centred on Culture and Art, Artistic Activism, Development and Social Cohesion and Social Policies. She worked as a consultant for APLOAD before formally joining the Evaluation and Social Planning Department. In this context, she carried out studies and research into project monitoring and evaluation, focusing on social inclusion and equity (prevention of discrimination based on gender, age, and socio-economic status). She has published in her areas of expertise.
